You may be wondering – “What in the world is a tennis ladder?” A tennis ladder is an informal way for local tennis enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to meet and play matches with other similarly-skilled players at mutually convenient times and locations.

We rank players on a ladder based solely on the order in which they register at www.thetennisladder.com. Once ranked, players are allowed to challenge the player located either one spot or two spots ahead of them on the ladder. We then handle the administrative activities and send emails to both players as times/locations are confirmed. At this point THE CHALLENGE IS ON! ™

Matches are then played in a best two out of three sets format. The winner reports the scores at www.thetennisladder.com and we will adjust your ladder to reflect the outcome. If you are the challenger and the winner, congratulations, you now move up the ladder and take your opponent’s spot. If you were challenged and lost, better luck next time, and you will move down the ladder. The player located at the top of the ladder on the last day of each ladder season is the winner and receives a prize.

You may join a singles, doubles and/or mixed doubles ladder in your region. You may also join ladders in surrounding regions if you desire more match play.
